The Stupid is Strong in This One
It's hard to imagine what possesses a person to make such a statement, but perhaps there is some truth in it. Maybe it is time to move forward from those labels, but his statement fails to recognize what each group was referred to prior to these titles. It was a step forward at the time.

David Evans is a criminal defense attorney who believes marijuana users should go to jail. Given that his career would benefit from more jailable offenses, one must consider other perspectives on the topic as he stands to gain from this agenda. And just like Rush Limbaugh, he doesn't want to focus on his own drug use, rather he wishes to make it all about others. Apparently he's the exception to the rule on how he otherwise suggests people behave when they're under the influence of a mind altering substance.

It's Important to Worship the Right Thing
His intention here is to speak out against marriage equality by making a connection with Socialism. It's an obvious Strawman Fallacy that demonizes opposition to his beliefs. Playing off the notion of worshiping God rather than government, one might explore what unGodly objects Republicans do worship, They love the flag, but hate the government that flies it, except of course when Republicans have the majority in Congress and their guy in the White House.
